Music. Photos. Joy.
Who is Aaron Geter?
Aaron Geter is an artist in every sense of the word—rapper, singer, poet, photographer, and creative visionary. Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, his artistry reflects a lifelong love for performance and self-expression. From school plays at age six to chorus, dance teams, and marching band, Geter immersed himself in the arts early, mastering everything from alto sax to spoken word.
Drawing inspiration from Chris Brown’s genre-bending creativity and J. Cole’s lyrical depth, Geter embraces a “chameleon” approach to music—effortlessly shifting between smooth R&B, hard-hitting rap, romantic slow jams, and powerful poetry. His songs can make you dance, reflect, smile, or confront life head-on. “I just create based on how I’m feeling,” he says. “I never want to be put in a box.”
Photography is another extension of that same creative drive. Geter captures moments with the same authenticity he brings to his music—whether shooting major concerts, intimate portraits, or everyday scenes transformed into works of art. His lens finds beauty in unexpected places, making anyone feel like a model and turning a plain street corner into a vibrant backdrop.
Geter's journey includes years of grassroots performances, from college stages at East Carolina University to winning radio contest that put his music on the air. After releasing over 50 songs from his home studio, he took a two-year+ hiatus to refine his craft, returning with a renewed sense of purpose. Collaborating closely with longtime friend and producer Dowah, Geter is now unveiling his most intentional work yet.
His art is deeply shaped by his late mother’s wisdom to “Choose Joy,” a motto that guides his life and creative mission. “Life is precious,” Geter says. “If we have the choice to feel how we want, why not choose joy—especially when it’s hardest to do?” Through every verse, beat, and photograph, Geter strives to spread that joy and inspire others to embrace their own creativity.
